Welcome to this meditation—the meditation on the power of beginning again. My name is Mychal, and I will be your guide on this journey.
Take a few moments to settle in and find a comfortable seat. You may sit cross-legged or elevate your hips, finding a sustainable posture that provides both support and stillness. The more supported you are in your seat, the deeper you can drop into the meditation practice. Tend to your physical body in this way.
If it feels comfortable, gently close your eyes or soften your gaze toward a fixed point. Take a deep breath in, emptying out completely. Then, follow that emptiness by filling yourself fully with breath—expanding the belly, chest, and rib cage. Exhale audibly through your mouth.
Now, breathe in and out through your nose as we take the first steps on this path—the path of beginning again. Always come back to your breath whenever you notice your mind wandering. As many times as you need throughout this practice, remind yourself to return to the breath.
In those moments when you remember, take a full inhale. With compassion, exhale and release anything that no longer serves you in this moment.
In the tapestry of life, the journey of focus and concentration often encounters detours and distractions. Yet within the ebb and flow of our intentions lies the transformative power of beginning anew.
As we gently bring this meditation to a close, carry this wisdom with you—with each step you take, with each breath. Recognize that every moment is an opportunity to realign with your purpose.
White noise will continue playing in the background for those who wish to sit a little longer. When you feel ready, slowly open your eyes, reacquainting yourself with the external world. Step forward into this beautiful space of new beginnings.
