Hello and welcome to this guided meditation.

My name is Marissa, and tonight, we’ll be creating some awareness around any unresolved emotions you may be carrying from the day.

You’ll learn how to acknowledge these emotions, and then safely put a hold on them until morning.

You can imagine this practice to be similar to the idea of a library.

Sometimes, as we browse through a library, we pick up a lot of books, and before we know it, we have a pile of stories.

We carry these books with us throughout the library, and that can be overwhelming.

But typically, before we leave, we realize we can’t take all of these books with us.

We need to put some on hold.

When we put books on hold at the library, we know we can come back the next day or whenever we need them. This way, we can properly give each story the attention it deserves when the time is right.

It’s the same with our emotions.

Sometimes, we pick up emotions throughout the day.

Carrying these emotions can make us feel weighed down.

Before we can get a good night’s rest, it’s best to put some of these emotions on hold, to be dealt with when we’re ready to give them the proper attention they deserve.

And when we’re in the best mindset to work through them, we can always return to them.

Today's practice will help you settle into your body, letting go of the emotions of the day, and drifting peacefully into sleep.
