Transcript
Hello and welcome.
My name is Marissa, and tonight, we’ll be focusing on how to mentally and emotionally let go of the day’s events, setting a restful tone for sleep.
This practice will support you in acknowledging your emotions, learning how to listen to them, and tuning in to what you need in order for these emotions to shift.
We’ll also discuss the importance of detachment at the end of the day, and finish with a relaxing visualization to support this process of letting go as you're guided into a peaceful night’s sleep.
Begin by finding a comfortable position in your bed.
If you aren’t lying in bed right now, that’s perfectly fine—find any relaxing place where you can rest and ease into this meditation.
When you’re ready, gently close your eyes and take a deep breath in, filling your lungs completely…
And then exhale deeply, visualizing that you’re releasing any tension from the day.
Before we let go of and detach from any emotions, let’s first release any lingering tension in the body.
Start by bringing your awareness to the top of your head, noticing any sensations or areas of tension.
Allow your attention to slowly move down as you scan your body—down to your forehead, your eyes, your cheeks, and your jaw.
