Hello, my friends.
My name is Marissa, and today, I’ll be guiding you through a relaxing naptime story, where we’ll also practice deep breathing.
During our meditation, we’ll meet a very special friend—Big Belly Bear—who will help teach us how to take big, deep breaths.
The first thing we’re going to do is find a comfortable place to lie down.
You can also grab your favorite stuffed animal or a pillow and place it gently on your tummy.
This will be your breathing buddy during our meditation, which we’ll be using in just a moment.
Your breathing buddy will help you make sure that you’re taking nice, deep breaths.
If you don’t have anything to place on your belly, that’s absolutely OK.
You can use your imagination to take deep breaths, or simply place your hands on your tummy to feel your breath move in and out.
I’ll give you a moment now to find a cozy spot to lie down after you’ve gathered your breathing buddy.
Before we begin our story, let’s take a moment to relax our bodies.
Start by wiggling your toes, feeling them move as you let any extra energy out… and then let them rest, noticing the difference between movement and stillness.
Now, allow your legs to sink into the soft surface beneath you.
Feel them becoming soft like jelly… completely relaxed.
